Short DEMONSTRATION on "using Format Painter" (5 minutes total time).

The EQUIPMENT and MATERIALS required for the lesson:

* HANDOUT – showing the step-by-step process to use Format Painter.

* COMPUTER MONITOR – to demonstrate the process

* LAB COMPUTERS – for students to access and change the document.

How INSTRUCTOR will FACILITATE student learning:

                        Introduction – Anticipatory Set (60 seconds)

* Statement of the objective

* Explain Format Painter is a time saver

* Tie in the importance of using step-by step procedure

 

Guided and Independent Practice (60 seconds)

* Actual student practice will follow the demonstration.

*  Student will follow the handout and use Format Painter to change their document.

 

Instruction – Key Concepts (60 seconds)

* Demonstrate each step on the handout.

 

Checking for Understanding and Clarification (30 seconds)

* Ask individual students about a specific step on the handout

 

Conclusion – Closure (30 seconds)

                        * Reemphasize importance following the step-by-step procedures.

                        * Encourage students to use the handout as a guide.

 

            How the students will be EVALUATED

 

Through a performance test in which each student will be given a set of step-by-step instructions and a document to change.  Students will change the document, type their name on the document, print the document, and turn the document in for evaluation.
